DWP award text message

Hi,
I would like to thanks if my query could be posted in the forum.
I’ve had my telephone assessment on the 31st of May 2022, I’m just trying to figure out whether I had a scam or not text message on my phone as, today I got a text message from DWP saying “ We have awarded you PIP. We have sent you a decision letter explaining the award. Please allow 2 weeks to receive this. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.“
Did anybody received something similar?

Hi Blackie77, I had the same message just over a week ago. Today I got my award letter, and backpay went into my account at the same time. I was a bit worried after a week as I hadn’t heard anything, so phoned the PIP helpline. The helpful lady read out my award letter and confirmed the award and backpay and I received the letter confirming it today. Hope you have news soon!

Hi Blackie77,

The only texts I've ever had from the DWP are to say they have received something either from me or from the assessment provider.

I would phone the DWP to clarify it as it does sound suspicious.

Hi. Yes I have received the exact same text as I won my tribunal on Tuesday. I also had the same call someone else put in the forum, telling me I had been awarded and asked if I had ever stayed in hospital or been in a care home ( I think that was one of the questions) and if stayed out of the country for so long. Then said I would get my back payment and letters in the post in next 10 working days. ( I think) Brain can't remember exactly lol

Hi again, indeed I’ve phoned PIP and I can confirm the text message was from DWP. I didn’t even needed to speak with someone as, the automated call asked my details I was informed what and when my payment was due for.
The text message said to wait to 2 for my decision letter and 1st psyement is 05 July.
