Asking for a friend with bipolar 2 and eating disorder.

She was very unwell 2014-2020. Improved mid 2020 and stable since. Still needs meds but now working.

Gets basic rate pip for daily living. Came off uc when she started work - so dwp must know she is working anyway...

With bipolar it’s unpredictable- She still has the illness...but currently managing well but this can change any time if she has another episode. Obviously she only struggles with daily living during an episode of mania or depression.

So is she meant to tell dwp her circumstances have changed - Or does she just wait for her review?

Hi Glitter1357

I can only reiterate what I replied in your other post. The DWP ask that if a claimant's medical condition has improved they are supposed to inform them. People make their own decisions when they do this, and it can be particularly challenging when the condition is one that runs the risk of flaring up again - however, the rules are clear - people are supposed to inform them.
