I am in the support group, have severe disability premium etc. No change in circumstances, as I struggle reading the letters from DWP, my carer reads everything. We have just noticed (by bank), that the letter I received in February showed the new rates…fine , however last week saw a drop of £39, (fortnightly) and now on my next payment date I will receive £204 fortnightly instead of £275….no reasons as I said have been given and wonder if this has happened to anyone else? Obviously many people would ring them up but I had such a harrowing experience with them in 2020, which saw me on the verge of suicide, I am afraid to speak to them as they are so overwhelming. In on the amount I was getting is carers for another disabled person as C.A.B. said that because the disabled person is reliant on me for company and spends 50 hours a week at my home this was fine and carers allowance accepted this, there has been no letters from them so have no idea what is happening.
I'm sorry that you had such a terrible experience with the DWP before. No wonder you don't want to contact them. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question - so either you will have to write or could your carer ring on your behalf. You would just have to be at the beginning of the call to confirm that they can speak and then they ask the question. It might get you a quicker answer.
Sorry, I can't offer more.
