Warm Home Discount

I know a lot of people are confused this year and the rules are supposed to have changed. Ever since this was introduced we've always received this as vulnerable people with disabilities and in receipt of means tested benefits. I need the heating on all the time in this cold weather. My fuel provider told me that we'll still receive it this year but the WHD people said we wouldn't which seems totally unfair. Nothing has changed for us except we are older and bills have gone up.

I too have received the WHD since it started due to getting DLA/PIP and IRESA, this year however, I’ve been told I’m not entitled as my flat which has an area of 45m2 is not classed as a high energy using home even though I’m still receiving the same benefits and have been using £8.00 per day recently trying to keep warm.

This cannot be fair but nothing can be done about it.

its a disgrace!!! we re on income support and housing benefit also pip been told we could have if we had a energy certificate its a council flat our council hasnt given us one
our flat is 55m squared
