ESA Timescales Northern Ireland was created by fibrofred
Hello Everyone
Just wondered if anyone would know the current timescales for the ESA process in Northern Ireland? How long from Medical Support Services (Dept for Communities) receives the claim form until finding out if there will be an assessment? Also, are the assessments by phone or F2F?
Many thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi fibrofred
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
I have absolutely no idea of the current time scale, it various across regions. There is a very large backlog. On the forum we hear from a few weeks to many months.
I will let forum members answer your question.
In answer to you other question, most assessments are still carried out by phone but we are hearing on the forum some face to face assessments are taking place as well as Tribunal hearings.
