Using a online change of address service was created by Dave107
Hi, I have just moved to a new flat and wondered if you can use a change of address service like Slothmove.com?
I think they charge but if it avoids the stress of phoning DWP I think it would be worth it. They also say they can do all changes like council etc. Does anyone have experience? Thanks.

Hi Dave107
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
I have never heard of Slothmove.com, when ever I have moved I have contact the Post Office and paid for re-direction of my mail, but I still have to inform the DWP of a change of address.
It use to state on the envelope not to be re-directed.
Lets open up your question to the forum, it will be interesting to see what replies we get.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for your information. For anyone else considering this, I looked at the reviews of the service and there were people mentioning that it took over a month for the DWP to register the change.
In light of this I decided it wasn't worth the anxiety of them not being informed quickly and me not getting any dreaded letters in due time. I plucked up the courage and after 1.5 hours on hold I managed to make the change. The chap who took my call was very pleasant and it took about 15-20 minutes to get it all done.
The council for housing benefit are a different matter which I will ask a separate question for.
