Hi, I receive PIP and it ends 1st June 2024. As you know I should receive the renewal forms a year before the end date. On my last review , I received my renewal forms year before ( And date was 1st May 2020 and my renewal forms arrived 1st May 2019) . It is 20th June and haven’t got anything yet. I am panicking because. What do you guys think I should do ? I know everyone’s situation different but I would like to know what’s your experience and thoughts . Thank you.

Hi Teddington

Review forms are sent out upto a year before the award's end date - so it isn't an exact date. I wouldn't worry at this point. If you haven't heard from them and you only have four months left - then I would contact them.

The renewal/review process is heavily backlogged right now and delays are very common. My PIP review was recently completed; it was initiated far later than I expected and took more than a full calendar year from receiving the forms to the decision finally being made.

During that time my original award timed out but the DWP auto-extended my payments for several months while they faffed about making their decision.

I'd say don't worry. They will start your review in their own sweet time and if your award comes to an end before they finish that process they'll automatically extend it while everything is being looked at. That's what happened with me and I understand that's very common currently.
