LCWRA backdating query was created by Jinnie S
Hello, I hope someone might be able to offer advice on when UC LCWRA should be backdated to? My daughter has sent in Fit Notes from September 2022 (when she first claimed UC) but her LCWRA addition has been backdated to March, three months after the UC 50 form was issued. I thought it should be backdated to three months or so after the first Fit Note was declared? Any clarification would be very useful. Many thanks.

Hi Jinnie S
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum
When you apply for LCWRA to start the process you show your workcoach a 'fit note', this starts the assessment period, the assessment period lasts for 13 weeks (3 months) if you are successful with your claim the LCWRA will be put in payment from the 14th week when you handed in the fit note.
Did you make a note on your daughters journal, I recently came across a claimant in a similar situation to yourself, they requested a mandatory reconsideration (MR) via their journal and received backdated LCWRA element to the 14th week of the assessment period.
If you have proof as to when you handed in the fit note, then ask for a MR.
I always advise claimants to make a note on their journal that they have handed in a fit note even if they hand deliver it to their workcoach. It is an electronic footprint.
