Hi , I had a planned assessment today at 10.30 , by 11.30 still no call so I rang Capita to be told to call back next Friday, a weeks time , to see if the ‘medical professional’ had updated the notes stating why there wasn’t a call . I asked them to make sure my notes stated that I waited and my phone log will show this … I also called DWP and the guy I spoke to said it goes down on their system as a ‘failure to attend’ regardless of how or why and that unless Capita ask for the interview to be rebooked he can’t do anything . They both sound like nonsense answers from Dwp and Capita so what do I do now other than call Capita back , maybe Monday rather than Friday? Any suggestions ?
I'm sorry this has happened to you. I would send a letter as soon as you can to the DWP explaining what you have been told by Capita, the conversation you had with the DWP and the unfairness of it being recorded automatically as failure to attend when it was nothing of the sort, and that you are waiting to hear what happens next. Keep a copy. It may not be needed, but at least they can't later deny knowing anything about it.
I definitely wouldn't wait until next Friday - why should you? If you'd had the assessment - the assessor would have had to put in the report within 48 hrs. The fact it didn't take place, they should be reporting it immediately, so it should be on the system already! Phone Monday or Tuesday am at the latest.
