I have a query on the pip walking around section please.
Even trying to stand up, which I have to do in stages to get upright to a standing position, I am in widespread significant arthritis pain.
Once stood up I can walk , but Im in severe pain from the first step, and every single step afterwards is extremely painful for me, Im breathless, and my knees give way and the pain level increases the more I walk.
Does that mean I cannot stand and walk at all?

Hi suexx
If it takes you several stages to stand up, and your legs give way as soon as you start to walk - this sounds like 1f if you can't walk more than 1 metre. Make sure that you have re-read pages 87-89 of the Guide to PIP claims. If you are breathless and in danger of falling, remember to highlight safety and reliability issues.

Hi Bis,
Thanks so much for your reply. I can walk more than 1 metre, but if I am walking in pain, does that disregard any walking distance?
My knees dont give way as soon as i walk, but they do give way daily, so I am at risk of this happening when I walk without warning.
I have read the guides, but I will check those pages again.

Hi suexx
1E and 1F score the same number of points. Only you know the impact of your pain, the severity of it and how soon you become breathless. You also know how quickly problems occur. If you struggle but can get over 1m, go for 1E, but if it is an instant problem with a risk of you giving way immediately, then I would go for 1F.
