PIP Dates was created by LeChuck
Hi

My PIP award was due to end on July 4th, ie tomorrow. The actual end date was December 4th 23.

I called and asked them if I had missed a letter or something.

They said the award had been extended to September 24. I asked when this meant I would receive forms to reapply/renew my award but the guy got really cryptic, vague and terse and was like, "soon, very soon".

I query what the relevance of Sept 24 was then and he answers that's when the award ends.

So we have this (un) merry go round of why "soon" if 15 months from now.

He basically says I can expect the form at any time, which we all know is technically true but somewhat disingenuous.

Any opinions as to when I can expect these forms? It matters because I am juggling my GP at the moment - I want to switch because they havent been very helpful but am wary of doing so right as I am expected to complete a PIP form.

Many Thanks

Hi LeChuck

Review forms for PIP are typically sent out up to 12 months before the award end date. Therefore if your end date is Sept 2024, you can expect to get a form from Sept 23. However, because of their backlog, we have heard from a couple of members that the DWP have said some people are receiving their forms up to 15 months before the end date. So it's possible you will hear in July or August or any time from September going forward.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. I'm frightened that explaining the negative effect on me the uncertainty is having may motivate them to hit me with the forms. Anyway...
Thanks again
