PIP award. was created by andyj1967
Hi all, my wife has just had her PIP awarded after going through a mandatory, going from 0 points to low on both parts.
She got a phone call telling her it was being reinstated, no reference to amounts was said. My wife due to her mental health. hates phone calls to authority at the best of times, just said OK, thank you. However the amount has been reduced from what she had before.
So, is it worth pursuing any further, to try to get the amount she had before. (We have not received the written confirmation as yet). Let me know if you want further info.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi andyj1967
We cannot answer your question as we not not know her circumstances and whether or not her disabilities have changed. We would advise you to contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk

Thanks Gary, Sorry I posted again, but it was showing that this post hadn't gone up, at least I couldn't find it in my topics or on the forum. I waited a while looking for it.
Thanks for your reply, the only difference between the two is she has had 1 hip replaced, the other is moderate, but she doesn't have major issues at the moment. The only extra she got last time, was high rate care. With the extra points for needing help to dress below the waist. Which I still help her with.
Last time she got high care, and low mobility, this time it's both low. Or appears to be after it was reinstated. She'll probably talk to her mental health worker.

Hi andyj1967
I would advise you to seek help fom your local Welfare Rights Organisation as in my previous post.
Have you contacted DWP and asked for a copy of the assessors report called a PA4, you need this report before you make a decision about appealing the decision.

Hi Gary,
We haven't had a letter telling us the outcome of the Mandatory yet, although the back payment has been paid into my wife's account (how I was able to determine the rates). Do I ask for the PA4 now or when we get the mandatory result.
Thanks, Andrew
