Mandatory request was created by theophilus9
Hi
just a quick update, my mandatory request has been turned down, because I don't have any professional input for my PTSD, Depression, anxiety, I sent letter saying that my sessions had finished as it was too intense to continue at this moment, I was seen and under the mental health team for 4 years. so now I have to appeal, it is so wrong that they are saying because I am not continually being seen I am well. I have a diagnosis of PTSD,DEPRESSION how can they ignore this because I am not receiving counselling. do I have to be under a therapist for the rest of my life to gain the points?
reduced me from high mobility to standard, because of not needing support going out because I don't see anyone for my mental health, but they have given it me for an ongoing period.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

HI theophilus9
I combined your two posts together.
It's interesting they have given you the award for an ongoing period (therefore recognising that your issues are long-term), and yet they then say you're not getting support. I'm with you - I think it is a ridiculous comment. Mental health services are under huge pressure and are giving people a period of care and then discharging them (regardless of where they are).
No, you don't have to be continuously under the care of a counsellor/psychiatrist/psychotherapist and anyone from those fields will say that you have to take breaks. When you're forming your appeal - it's one of the points that you want to make. I expect one of the major professional sites will give lengths of time.
