Pip court tribunal was created by Lesley
I have been refused PIP by mandatory reconsideration and now waiting for tribunal date. I do have points but not enough for the basic award. I have depression. PTSD. Spondylitis. Under active thyroid. Colitis. Anxiety and possibly agrophobia.
I’m not very clever and I am very scared.
Can anyone help?

Hi Lesley
Did you get a copy of your assessment report before you put in for your Mandatory Reconsideration (MR)? If you haven't got it - you should ring and ask for it. It's a PA4.
You are supposed to get a phone call from the DWP to explain why you were turned down for your MR. If you haven't had one - you could ring the DWP and ask for it to take place. (I know this could be too much).
Your next option is to put in for an appeal to the Tribunal. You have to do this within one month of the date on your MR notice. If you miss this date, you can put in for a late appeal up to 11 months after the date on your letter and ask the Tribunal to accept a late submission. They are allowed to accept or refuse this request. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip
We have a guide to PIP appeals and also a guide to challenging a PIP medical report. The DWP is not so much interested in your condition/s, but how they impact your daily living and your mobility. So it's important to show how you meet the criteria. The guide will talk you through the whole process.
If you need some help to put in an appeal, you can see if you can find a specialist welfare advisor in your area. advicelocal.uk/
