PIP Appeal - HMCTS was created by Joan
Hi I have a face to face PIP appeal at HMCTS coming up and I wonder if anyone can give me some guidance on the type of questions I will be asked to enable me to prepare for this as best I can. I have read through all of the papers that I have received from the tribunal and sent them additional medical evidence, GP records etc. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance Joan.

Hi Joan

It's difficult to tell you exactly what they will ask. It will be based on the PIP criteria, and they will give you the chance to confirm why you disagree with the DWP's decision. So make sure you're very clear on why you think you should have scored points that you didn't and what you think you should have scored.

I always think having one side of A4 with a bulleted list of the key points you don't want to forget is useful. I know you will have all the papers with you, but it's hard to suddenly pull something out of pile of papers. If you don't understand a question ask them to repeat it. If you suddenly can't think of the answer, either say you don't know, or take a drink of water. Don't feel rushed into giving an answer.

Best of luck
