New style ESA award period confusion was created by Bobble
Hi,
Last week I was verbally informed that I have been put in the support group for NSESA. The person I spoke to said it would be reviewed in 1 year's time. I'm still waiting for the decision letter.
Yesterday I got a letter saying my benefit rates had changed. But, the period of time only covers up to the end of November this year. Would that suggest I've only been given a 6 month award, rather than a 12 month award?
Also, I asked for a copy of the health professional's report, but was told this is automatically sent out with the decision letter. Is that correct? and if not, what specifically do I need to ask ESA to send me?
Many thanks,
Bobble

All ESA Entitlement letters have an end date of November, it is because the Christmas Bonus is paid, to those eligible, in the first week of December.
It is nothing to worry about. ESA is a continuous award so there is no "End Date" despite what you have been told, it will remain in payment until a new Decision is made on your claim, whenever that might be.

Hi Gordon, that's reassuring. Thank you so much for your reply.
With regard to the health professional's report. I've still not received a copy of that. Do they send them out automatically, and if not, who do I need to ask for that (ESA or the health assessment centre)?
Best wishes,
Bobble

Hi Bobble
For NS ESA, You can ask for a copy of the assessors report once a decision has been made it is called a UC85.
They do not send them out automatically, you have to phone and make a request.

Thanks Gary,
I thought I'd probably need to request the report, which I did last week. To which I was told they are sent out automatically.
Back on the phone I go Wish me luck!
Thanks again,
Bobble

Hi Bobble
Make sure that you have received the decision letter before you phone and ask for a copy of the assessors report called a UC85.
