PIP assessment report and award length was created by somegirl
I applied for PIP online and I have just received the assessment report.

According to the report I should receive enhanced daily living and mobility. The review is recommended for 5 years.

The report summary states I have severe functional impairment and my symptoms are not expected to get better.

The review period justification is somewhat ambiguous and doesn't make much sense.

I have Multiple Sclerosis which is progressive and incurable. I also have ASD which is lifelong. My conditions will not improve. My current MS symptoms can only remain the same or worsen as they have not remitted.

The 'not expected to get better' is a throwaway comment from a clinician meaning won't improve. I have asked if my consultant will provide a couple of sentences clearly expressing my prognosis.

I imagine ongoing awards are like hen's teeth but could someone explain the criteria.

Also does anyone know if I can submit further documentation online before the decision maker reviews the assessment report?

There is a small window for you to contact the Decision Maker, write your concerns about the award length and try and provide evidence to support your arguments.

Both your conditions, as you say, are lifelong so provide references to this effect, if you provide quotes, make sure you provide links to the original source.
