Hi Deg Peard

You can't suddenly say that someone will speak for you for a PIP phone assessment. They have to be an official appointee agreed to by the DWP.

There's a process to follow for someone to become an appointee. Once they are in place an appointee can speak on behalf of a claimant for an assessment. www.gov.uk/become-appointee-for-someone-claiming-benefits

An appointee will be applied for tomorrow. What if an appointee is granted, will they be able to speak for me at an assessment as they wont have signed the review forms sent in january?

Hi Deg Peard

We cannot give you a definitive answer, as it will depend on a number of factors such as has the appointee been agreed with DWP.
