LCWRA was created by Roch82
Good afternoon.
Asking for a friend.
She worked 20hrs a week, been knocked down to 16hrs due to been off a lot
Been on and off work With illness over long periods of time and been successful with claiming LCWRA.
She is still employed with B&M but she is questioning if she she can still employed with LCWRA, with UC. Also awaiting PIP appeal next month.
If so how much can she earn each week?
She thinks she has got a pension with the B&M do they still put in the pension if she's not working, she doesn't get SSP anymore either. What would it mean if she leaves work, will she loose out on that pension that's been paid? We don't know how it all works.
If she ends up wanting to leave work how would she go about it, as she's worried that changing her circumstances will get her money stopped :-\

Hi Roch82
We would advise your friend to seek advice from their local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk , they will be able to take all their circumstances into consideration.
As for advice about pensions, this is outside the remit of the forum, you will need to contact Pension wise;
www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/pensions-and-retirement/pension-wise, they may be able to give you advice.
As your friend is in receipt of UC, this is different to ESA, there is no earnings ceiling, as your friend is in receipt of LCWRA then she would be eligible to an Work Allowance before an earnings taper of 55% is taken into account, again it would depend on her circumstances but you have to do two sets of calculations to get a figure, once the calculation goes down to zero then UC will stop. My advice would be for your friend to seek advice, if she leaves work due to ill health then she must get a fit note from her doctor, again seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation.
