Esa review was created by Chocolady
I sent in a esa review form in the middle of July and as I can’t be vaccinated due to anaphylaxis as a child and can’t wear a mask due to asthma and have twice had covid (which hasn’t helped my asthma plus bladder incontinence issues I asked for a paper or telephone based review. I included a letter from my doctor and MRI results showing severe arthritus in my knees and other blood test results plus a letter from a social worker who has helped me and seen mobility and other issues. My underlying condition is also lupus. Ive recently had some worrying blood tests showing that my kidney disease and diabetes levels have been raised to add to all the stress of the review and am currently looking into this with my lupus consultant (who’s ok but quite elderly, forgetful and often can be a bit dismissive). My problem is I have a lot of different health issues either lupus related or otherwise and have been in receipt of ESA support group for years but I don’t really go to my doctors on a regular basis about this as I have my own ways of coping with help from friends and family and I saw nobody about many things over lockdown along with many others I’m sure. Stupidly I didn’t call my doctors to tell them I was having a review as I thought I’d provided lots of evidence and didn’t mention some of my recent issues to them. I’ve seen on my records that DWP have been in contact with my doctors. The doctors have given an “overview of notes” ESA 113 over to an outside agency called IGPR. I think they do insurance reports and reports for DWP. my concern is my notes show my different recent issues with my kidney results, borderline diabetes etc. but I had an appointment quite a few weeks ago with a paramedic about my recent dizziness and it was very misleading along with my being refused for physio when I self referred after waiting 2 years because there was no physio during the pandemic. I often walk with a stick and I was asked if my dizziness was related to my limb weakness and I said no. That was put on my notes as no limb weakness! Ive now been re referred for physio and have an appointment for orthapeadic clinic to look at severe arthritus in my knees but not before this overview was sent off. I’m just worried this will be used by dwp to downplay my symptoms with this remote report from this company. I haven’t had any response yet but I’m getting myself in a panic worrying as I’ve already provided lots of information and the dwp have not needed this before to my knowledge. Don’t know if anyone else has had this.

Hi Chocolady

I'm sorry that you are worrying about this. All I think you can do at this stage is wait and see. I can't tell you what the DWP may or may not think about that error. If it has an impact, you will have the chance to point out there was an error in the future.

I do know one other member had written about their experience with an IGPR report, but I can't find their post. Hopefully someone will see your post and comment.

Thanks BIS im still waiting for a response from them do you know on average how long people are waiting for a response to esa reviews? It would be good if anyone’s had an experience with this IGPR group to know what they thought.

Hi Chocolady

I'm sorry, I've no idea how long ESA reviews are taking at the moment. It varies so much from person to person that it won't be accurate, even if I take a guess. Before the pandemic, we had more of an idea, but not now.

You can ask your GP for a copy of what they sent in but be warned that GPs don't always keep a copy of what they filled out. It seems some just note that they have sent a form back. In your case, if a third party has done this, I doubt the GP will have anything to tell you.
