I realise this may not be your field, but what do you think of this: I spoke to the pc person on the advice line and was querying notional income from an untouched pot. He said thats fine but you will also have to pay notional income from the year before ie,when I was 65.I was 66 in July and started the pc claim and this statement has thrown me.I expected to pay the income from when I turned 66 and applied, what do you think ?

Mrs D

I can't think of any reason why Notional Income will be deducted from your PC for any period prior to your claim with the exception of any backdating of the PC claim that you make.

Thank you for your reply Gordon.Thats what I thought, and when I asked why? the man said,"thats just the way it works" hardly an in depth explanation! I had a similar situation when I applied for PIP back in April, the lady said "if your PIP claim is successful, you will be paid until your 66th birthday, then it will stop and you have to claim attendance allowance" I tried to explain the "system"but she would not agree and said "would you like to cancel this claim" Obviously I said carry on with the claim, and 6 weeks later received standard for both and 10 year till soft touch. But it just shows how tactics seem to be used to muddle and dissuade you from claiming.
