Hi george,
I am new to moderating, so not really sure if they link the payments, but I know from when I got UC and PIP, the UC was paid on a particular date every month (i.e. 20th for example) but the PIP was paid every 4 weeks on a Wednesday for some reason. I would imagine its similar with these, where ESA is paid on a particular date but the Severe Disability Payment from what I've read will be paid weekly ( however, I did notice you mentioned monthly ), but don't quote me on that. One of the more experienced mods may be able to confirm for definite, but hopefully I've been of some help to answer your question.
You will know soon when you are able to check your bank I would imagine.
