Unannounced ESA call from jobcentre asking questions about help getting into wor

Hi, just received a call from the local jobcentre asking to speak to my husband and so I passed the phone to him, they said they understand that he recently asked for an ES85A medical results form and then said we can help you if you want to get back into work and attend the jobcentre and questions about when I last worked etc. but he said I have just had a reassessment and been put into the Support group again [Last month], my husband panicked and thought it was a crank call, he is all anxious know and panicking, I would like to know if this is correct and above board by the DWP, Does he have the right to decline and not speak to them, please help?, thank you

we are also waiting on an a form they sent us and we sent it back regarding Severe D Premium as I [wife] am also now on PIP along with my husband and they say we could receive more money, eventually after phone calls they took details over the phone for applying for SDP, we are on the old ESA and by all acounts entitled to it and backdated a number of months, we dont receive carers allowance anymore as my and my husbands condition have worsened, we understand that appling for SDP wont trigger a change of circumstance but we fear they are stalling or doing something so as to put us on universal credit, we are tired and need reasuring, please help, thank you

I know for sure that applying for SDP if already on ESA will not trigger a change of circs. This because I have had SDP for some years and had to call them when my eldest daughter turned 18 and I was no longer eligible for SDP. Then re applied when she moved out and have repeated this process with my younger daughter. It is not a change in the benefit (ESA) that you are getting merely a change within that benefit I.E. the SDP is in effect an add on to your ESA
