Additional Support Marker was created by Barney Rubble
I have a vulnerable son who has an Ongoing PIP award but I recognise that a review of his award will be carried out at some stage. I read in the B&W Newsletter of 5th July 2023 that some PIP claimants have an 'Additional Support Marker' within the DWP which means that a decision can be made without a review form being returned. Could you please tell me where I can find more information about this in the PIP Claims Guide.
On 6th February 2023 the then Minister (Tom Pursglove) in response to a pariamentary question indicated in his answer that some claimants are marked as 'Additional Support' and some as' Additional Customer Support' and some with both markers.
Is there a way of finding out whether my son has either or both of these markers.
Thanks
Barney

Hi Barney Rubble
There isn't any additional information in the guide. You can ring the DWP and say that he is a vulnerable adult and ask if your son has any markers on his file. Please, please, please be careful when you are trying to find out, that you don't say anything that the person on the line thinks you are trying to report a change of circumstances or asking for a review. I say not to frighten you but to warn you what can happen if you get a poor call handler on the other end.

Hi BIS
Many thanks for your reply and particularly for the warning about contacting the DWP. As there is no reason at the moment other than curiosity for me to know if his file contains a marker, I'll keep stum!
