Confused about Face to Face Pip

Hi I'm claiming pip for the first time and wonder if anyone has any insight as to why I've been chosen to attend a face to face assessment as I thought most were still telephone.

I'm 51 and was born with one hand. I'm applying now because I'm now really, really struggling as my one hand is suffering from over use. When completing the pip assessment I realised that I've probably been eligible for standard daily living my whole life anyway. I submitted full medical evidence including x-rays. So there's no doubt I have no hand!! I'm not sure what kind of physical assessment they can do on me. I guess check hand strength in my one hand?

I can attend the face to face although it's at 8am,30 miles away and would need to get a bus, a train and walk 45 minutes at the end to get there - and it's at 8am so it'll be pushing it to get there on time!!

I don't see it as a bad thing necessarily although telephone would be so much easier, I just really just really want to know why me? It's not like they want to see me because they think I'm hiding something I quite simply just have no hand!!
