Hi

I successfully sent in my PIP form 3 months ago Today i got a SMS saying :

"We still have your PIP and will be processing your review as soon as we can. You may still need an assessment with a health professional. Your PIP will continue to be paid until we review your claim. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change."

Does this SMS indication anything might be occuring or am i likely to have to wait another 3 months and might recieve future similar SMS ?

Thanks for your attention

Hi sp,

Based on my own circumstances and having the same text message in the past - your PIP will continue to be paid until they review your papers. There is no timescale on how long it will take unfortunately, but I remember me receiving the text in May, and got my appt with the HCP in June, to which my PIP was stopped, but I contested it via an MR. It was rejected again. I then went in for the Courts tribunal, but before it got to them, the DWP backed down, and agreed to give me my original award.

Hope this helps,

Regards, Chris.

Hi - cheers

so it might signify the start of my month assessment period proper based on your own reported events. ...... rather than just an automated reminder the whole system is still delayed. (?)

Hi sp,

Who knows? With the backlogs, there's really no idea time wise that I can suggest. I just thought I'd let you know that I was quite happy to get my year extension, but then literally a month later, it was stopped after the HCP appt. I think the texts will continue to be received every few months, just to keep you in the picture that you've not been forgotten about, but I'd say that the longer you can keep your automatic extension, the better - because if you lose it after an HCP appt, then it could take you several more months of waiting before you get it back (if you do) - even though it is backdated.

Hope this helps to clarify things.

Regards, Chris.

twinkerzzz, I sent my form off in March, they sent a text to say they’d got it. Since then I’ve had a message the same as yours every 3 months.

I had that self same text not long back. Soon after, things started happening pretty fast. Face to face assessment in a different city, paperwork sent from that next day then a DWP decision text in about 10 days. It ended up good news though, even after almost a nearly FOUR HOUR Assessment. Good luck to you.
