Do DWP usually follow assessors recommendations in report

Hi I have been looking for the answer to this but not having much luck. I have a copy of my report from my assessment 2 weeks ago. I have scored 15 points for the daily activities part and 20 points for the mobility part. I am trying to find out how often the DWP change the points or ignore the assessment recommendations. Can anyone help please?

The person who saw me for my esa assessment (assessment which I had recorded) a few years back, when I have been on esa support group for years due to many long standing worsening health conditons, decided to give me Zero points on her report according to the very nice sympathetic assessor who called me and chose not to follow the assessor (who saw me) recommendation report.
I might have mentioned it on this forum a few years back.

So in my case the assessor did not follow the report of person who saw me.
The assessor called me, I did not know who it was, she introduced herself and ASKed if it was ok to talk because on my esa report i said I did not want them to call me. when she called me i was in great pain, and asked her to call me back which she kindly did.
When she called back she asked if it was ok to ask me a few questions quickly, I am glad I did. she said after I confirmed a few things quickly that when she saw all the health conditions I had listed and explained on my esa form (in great details, and explaining how i was affected by them following B&W guides to the letter) she wanted to let me remain me on the support group but she needed to back herself up with a few questions she could ask me over the phone and the problem is that on the form I had said I preferred not to be called (as sleeping , in pain etc) but I had put my telephone number.
Well she really wanted to help me and called and I am glad she called me.
From now on I will always put my contact number on the form and I will not tell them not to call me.
She also said ‘ do you know how many points you were given ( by the person who saw me) ‘ she said ‘ zero’ and I wanted to help you and put you on the support group because with all the health conditions you have listed on the esa form but also in great details how it affected me, but because you said no callback I was stuck . I did not stay long, I said I had to go as in great pain.
But one last question she asked is could I use a wheelchair
- as my health conditions affect the bottom part of my body
- but as I had been having frozen shoulders on and off ( i got all the medical records from the gp for free, all of them, physio which you can use even if you do not have a medical letter from gp, comments from gp consultations over the phone or face to face, receptionist answering the phone ... I selected and sent with my esa form all that confirmed what I was saying only) I said I could not and that pushed me towards the support group even further I believe.
Now I have arthritis in my fingers which I did not have a few years back so this should help towards not using a wheelchair.
So in my journey someone from DWP ESA chose to ignore the recommendation report (of zeo points, shocking with all my disabling health conditions) in favour of the esa form I filled in in great details using B&W guides.
So there is always light at the end of the tunnel, the guides to help you, the volonteer moderators and people from this forum who help each other out.

Hi there and thank-you so much for your detailed reply. I’m glad everything worked out for you. I will just have to wait and see and hope for the best. This group has been amazing for helping me prepare for my assessment and I felt I represented my conditions and their impact on my daily life as best I could so fingers crossed 😀
