Hi I am doing a PIP Review with my daughter who since the last award has transitioned (male to female) She take various medications giving her muscle atrophy which gives pain and weakens her as it is a testosterone blocker. She is also emotional and depressed as she deals with alot of negative remarks and is in a constant state of nervousness. Has anyone any experience of using symptoms as I have mentioned for PIP? She also has ADHD/ASD
Hopefully, we will have a member who can give you some first-hand experience that can help you and your daughter. Remember with PIP that the DWP don't concentrate on the condition per se so much as how that condition impacts on the claimant's daily living and/or mobility.
So your daughter has muscle atrophy and experiences pain and weakness and is also depressed alongside the additional symptoms of her ADHD/ASD- so you will need to show against the specific PIP criteria what impact these symptoms have.
Remember that there's a good chance that the person reading her form will have no experience of the symptoms experienced from testosterone blockers so make sure that you explain as fully as possible and even add some information from a reputable website if necessary.
