I am on Contribution Based ESA (support group) and have been for several years. I do not receive any means tested benefits, housing benefit etc.

I recently received a small inheritance that has taken me over £16,000 in savings.

Do I need to inform the DWP about this? I have tried phoning them to ask the question but it’s impossible to get through!

Hi Kat50

No, you do not need to report any inheritance as you are in receiptof CB ESA, which is not means tested.
