Hi, I was originally given 11th December as the date for getting my PIP review back.
I asked for an extension and they gave me 2 weeks, which took it to Xmas day. I asked what that meant because of bank holidays etc and he was incredibly vague. I'm working on the assumption that I shoujld get it sent BEFORE close of office on Fri 22nd.
He did say that if I was still struggling that I should call them again before 22nd and ask for more time.
Now, I am still struggling with it and I think I'd like more time to both be safe in the time for completing and also so I'm not sending it during the Xmas post busy time.
My question really is- how much time do they allow before they say, "we can't give you any more extension time?"
They usually offer a two-week extension each time people ask. When PIP started, it was common for claimants to ask for one extension, and then we started to hear about people asking for a second extension, which was granted. Although I have known people to have three or more extensions, that is not common, and no one should rely on one being granted. So I can't answer your question. These things are usually down to personal circumstances, and a certain amount of luck around the particular call handler, and their willingness to ask a more senior person if another extension could be granted.
