Hi. Can anyone recommend a solicitor to look at my case and support me with deciding if it’s worth pursuing ill health retirement with my LGPS.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi, Just wondering if you are a trade union member? If so try contacting them as they may be able to help. Unison negotiated a decent ill health departure settlement for someone I know of who was being bullied at work in a health setting due to their own ill health. Albeit that wasn't a pension issue but their solicitors also dealt with a non work personal injury claim successfully for one of my family, based on my membership!

Hi Rose,
I agree with Denby, a trade union adviser could be the answer here.
You might wish to seek advice from a qualified pensions adviser.
I woukd try this link from gov.uk which gives more ideas.
www.gov.uk/plan-retirement-income/get-financial-advice
You need to make sure that you don't lose money. If you have the option of a lump sum now, this might affect the amount of ongoing payments.
I hope this helps.
Wishing you a happy Christmas.
