UC claim closed was created by Caz
Hello everyone I am new to the forum.

The DWP have closed my UC as I did not accept the JC latest unreasonable Claiment Comitment . I tried to get the CC amended to reflect my circumstances as I am severely disabled due to arthritis and the work coach refused and then closed my UC claim.

If I make a second UC claim will it affect the assessment period for LCWRA restarting? I have not had a WCA yet and I do not want to lose out on the back dated assessment period which is approximately 9 months of the extra disability payment.

Will the assessment period of 3 months restart if I make a second claim?

If I make a second UC claim what will this entail?

Are there any disadvantages of making a second UC claim?

I will be submitting a complaint and mandatory reconsideration to the DWP regarding my old claim.

Your help and advice will be very much appreciated.

Hi Caz

Welcome to the forum.

You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum.

As your UC claim has been closed down, when you make a new claim you start again at the beginning.

You need to seek specialist advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk . As you claim has been closed you need to make a new claim, once you have a new claim you can then apply for a MR as to the closure of your old claim, if successful then everything goes back to how it was before your claim was closed.
