Just a heads up - I don't know the thinking behind this, but during the telephone assessment, the assessor kept asking, "and was this aid self-purchased?"

I failed to see why this mattered at the time, but now realise that it could possibly be because they are deciding that anyone can purchase an aid - so they can doubt your need for it

In my letter of complaint I did make reference to the recording ............

Please also note that during the telephone assessment there was a lot of questions re whether aids ******** used were self-purchased – (despite the assessors justification that they are not used?), may I take this opportunity to say that aids such as, pill organisers, shoe horns, button fasteners and zip pullers were all given to *******/us, via the NHS over 25 years ago – some were of use, some she could never get used to and, of course, we have replaced these ourselves over the years, it would be ridiculous to assume not – so Yes, ‘self-purchased’, but all with advice and recommendation from differing specialists over the course of time.

Please also note that I expected the telephone assessment to be a clarification of anything ‘missed’ on the Review Form – certainly the aids and help ****** gets was well documented in both the PIP Review Form and previous evidence in 2017 – again, evidence that we are asked not to send

I hope that this may help others - just incase it's another nasty in the pipework.

Good luck all :)
