Carer's premium ESA/Carer's allowance underlying eligibility

I was on irESA until recently, and found I could have claimed Carer's premium. I have now reclaimed CA to get the entitlement as part of my recent Pension Credit claim which I now have. I've been trying to find out the exact rules on back claims for CA/Carer's Premium but found nothing yet. All I can find is, 'usually CA can only be backdated up to 3 months', but nothing specific. Can you assist with a specific legal instrument or regulation that prevents a back claim for Carer's allowance underlying entitlement?

Hi livingproof

Unless you can show an official error, ignorance is no defence.

You need to look at C&P Regs, reg6(19)-(21)
