LCWRA and PIP council Tax bill was created by poppylouise32
This might be difficult to answer but I am concerned there might be a mistake in the Bill I received from Lewes council asking for £700. in council tax. My daughter who is disabled had to go else where so her needs could be met this was on the 1st June. I had to leave Income support and put on UC I already get enhanced PIP for daily living allowance.

When I phoned the council they rattled off all income coming to me( big brother moment). The basic for UC and I have transitional protection. I was also assessed and placed on LCWRA so the question is - Being on UC and LCWRA element would I be exempt from council tax?

Hi poppylouise32,

I would have thought that you would get the full amount of Council Tax Reduction.
Lewes Council advise you to use their Benefits simulator to get an estimate link below.

Let me know how you get on.

On the phone again to Lewes council and it was looked into again I explained that I get LCWRA and the person was not sure what that was, they then took it to a senior benefit advisor. The explanation I received that there were duplicate payments of Carers allowance on the account, I have not had carers allowance since 1st June.

As I was speaking to them I was online using their website for Tax entitlement and that said Zero to pay, I was ready for a debate instead I was told that my balance was zero and a letter will be sent out.

Big thank you David, you have saved me £700.

Hi poppylouise32,

You have to query everything these days especially with Council Tax and where it has been outsourced to private companies such as Capita.
