2nd extension request refused for migration to UC

Hello,

I have been sent a migration notice to UC.
I was granted a 1st extension but I have now been refused a ‘ 2nd ‘ extension.

I was told that I could not have an extension because I was already granted one.
This contradicts:
- our guides and things I have read on the internet
- their own UC migration notice extension letter that says they have extended my deadline by 4 weeks and that I can call them if I need more time.
- the nice person I talked to who granted me the ‘first’ extension’ who told me that if the given extension I was given was not enough, I could call them and ask for more time again.

Maybe I am mistaken but I get the feeling they are told to automatically refuse a second extension request if we have already been granted a first extension.
When my 2nd extension was refused I was told it was because I already had one extension and was not asked why I needed more time to claim.
Surely this is wrong.
The guide says we can place or complaint in writing.
I have two problems, I am not far from the deadline and I have just realised my original migration notice and my UC migration notice extension letter, do not have an address at all.
It only give a phone number and does not give an email address for me to send my complaint to.

Also for them to refuse point blank my 2nd extension request without asking why I need a second one, is not making reasonable adjustments to my needs due to my disability or health problems.
Am I correct in thinking I can complain verbally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Best wishes to all.

Hi Via,

I think it's going to be a case of " If you don't at first succeed try,try and try again." So you will hopefully get a more empathetic phone agent and you will get a result. Let me know how you get on.

Hello David,
You were right.
I asked again and was give an eight weeks extension and the letter confirming that extension is going to be sent to me.
Of course I will check to make sure I get it, as I do not want my benefits to be stopped.
Best wishes
