UC Application & Identification Attendance was created by Chaka Khan
Dear all,
I have been asked to attend the Job centre to verify ID for UC.
However I am very unwell and undergoing aggressive cancer treatment.
I also have difficult hospital appointments for procedures on the same day.
Is there any other way to complete this verification? I am not sure of the next steps.
I tried to complete verification online however perhaps it was not accepted.
In addition there is a section about Jobs to complete on the online UC to do list but I have been given a fit note from my GP which I have documented online in my application.
Please can you advise further?
Thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Chaka Khan
I'm sorry to hear about your current treatment.
It would be best if you informed the Jobcentre through your online journal of your current health or rang them on the UC helpline Telephone number 0800 328 5644 and told them that you have to be at the hospital on the date they want you to confirm your ID.
I don't know what alternatives they have in place for a person in your position - but you need to inform them - so they can tell you about your options.
