Holiday abroad was created by lesley
I am on Pension Credit Guaranteed and am going out of the country for 3 weeks. Do I need to contact the Pension Service about this?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi lesley
You are going abroad for under 8 weeks so it will not make a difference and there is no need to inform them.

Not sure if you received my reply, so writing it again.
I thought it was only 4 weeks. I panicked and called up the Pension service yesterday.
They said to call them again a bit nearer the time that I am going away, which is 1st April, then to call again when I return to let them know that I am back in the country.
Should I just go on holiday now without calling them and then just call when I return. Truly am now having panic attacks and have not slept for two nights. I have chronic anxiety. Scared to death now in case I have triggered something and my Housing Benefit will be stopped and will be made homeless.

Hi lesley
Your question was -
I am on Pension Credit Guaranteed and am going out of the country for 3 weeks. Do I need to contact the Pension Service about it.
As I said the answer is No.
You have now also mentioned Housing Benefit. You can only get Housing Benefit for 4 weeks if your stay abroad is for a holiday.

Hi lesley
There is nothing to worry about. As you have informed the DWP about the holiday I would keep the receipts confirming the dates you are away.
