Very interesting read and a chance for everyone to get involved via focus groups or survey.

Can you tell me, if they are aiming to replace PIP with another system of benefit, how long it would take that to be established and come into effect? Would it still have to go through a Green Paper, WHite Paper, committees etc? Or how long such a change would generally take. I know you can only estimate but just a rough guess would help.
I might be obsessed about time scales, but I have about four years left until pension so the longer all of this takes, the closer I will be to pension and the safer I will feel (with severe mental health issues.O)

Hi Chris. If its helpful if you look up Committee on Social Security PIP Consultation or do a search for "Additional Costs Disability Payment to replace PIP" there are many articles reporting it. There is a survey and dates for consultations coming up in March. The following link may also be helpful. www.commissiononsocialsecurity.org.uk/20...who%20rely%20on%20it.

Hi axab43
You know that we can't possibly know the timescale. As changes are announced, Steve will report on them
