Lapsed Appeal was created by Marie
Hi All,

I wanted to begin by thanking Benefits and Work for their useful guides on appeals. They successfully helped me to challenge the DWP decision and I did not have to attend an appeal and they changed their mind within 6 weeks of receiving my appeal.
As my condition had got worse, I appealed and put in a new claim at the same time, as I heard that you could be waiting over 6 months for an appeal. My new claim has now been withdrawn and I have been told I would need to fill in a change of circumstances form, and potentially could loose the award I fought hard for, and have to go through the same process again? Does this seem right? I am now in 2 minds whether to go down this stressful process again, any ideas if this seems right? Thank you

Hi Marie,

This happened to me, and I lose my PIP for several months after the assessor changed my points score, but I've been told by someone else that this shouldn't have happened to me. I did eventually win it back and got a small backdated sum, but I also went several months without any PIP, which was incredibly tough.

Chris.
