Not able to complete UC application in 30 days was created by Benson
Last month I began to sign up to UC migration from ESA and then found I had to get my passport renewed. The migration team have given me a 30 days extension while I await for my passport to come back. Today I got the email below from UC, if I am unable to sign up before 8th will there be any negatives ? Do I lose out on anything ? I haven't submitted my info yet but have answered all questions on the UC application website, so once I get the passport I can continue. If I end up doing this after the 8th is it any big deal ? Or just means I have to fill out everything again ? I don't understand why they only hold it for 30 days, does this mean they already have the info I filled out but didn't submit ?
Here is email I got............
Dear [name removed],
You have not completed your application for Universal Credit.
Sign in to your account by 8 March 2025 if you still want to apply.
If you miss this deadline you will have to start a new application.

Hi Benson
When you create a new UC account you have 28 days to complete the application form for a new UC claim. If you don't then all you have to do is go through the process of making a new UC account.
Also you don't need a passport to make a new UC claim. If you have any questions or are experiencing further difficulties I would advise you to phone the Citizens Advice Help to Claim phone number which is on page 2 of your Migration letter. Here is a recommendation from our Forum member VIA-

Let me know how you get on.
