UC50 Form- When asked to complete on phone after calling for a deadline extensio

Hi, just a note regarding the UC Capability for Work Questionnaire. I have had a few clients recently who have needed an extension to their return date due to needing a benefits advice appointment to support them in completing it. These clients when calling for the extension were encouraged to complete it whilst on the phone as it is "pretty straightforward." Two of those cases were complex and needed careful and concise completion of the form, appropriate use of descriptors and extensive supporting evidence. I wanted to highlight that anyone with a form who needs support does have the right to request a reasonable extension and should never feel pushed into rushing it on the phone.

Hi Gary, I do get leeway on the UC50s but its not always easy. As you say I do also often get the form sent then follow on with any additional evidence. This concern was with clients being pushed to do it with the telephone operative
