OPTICIAN FEES AND DENTAL TREATMENT FOR PERSONS ON ESA

I claimed contributions based ESA for 12months and was put into the support group LCWRA in December 2024.
When i go to the opticians or dentists i am given a form to fill in to obtain free NHS treatment
These forms ask me to tick if i am receiving income related esa .
I do not tick these boxes as my original claim was for contributions based new style esa .
I therefore have to pay for treatment which i need as i will not tick the receiving income related esa box .
i have been declining the treatment recently due to the cost of it .
Could you tell me what me ESA now is ? income or contributions ? as my 12months contributions based esa has ended and i am
in the LCWRA group. Could i be ticking these boxes and getting the spectacles and dental care free of charge .

Hi Jim

As you are in the Support Group your Contributions Based ESA carries on after 12 months.
Did you claim New Style ESA ?

Hi Jim

Your ESA is New Style ESA which does not automatically give exemption from NHS charges. You can use this eligibility checker to see if you qualify-
