esa and changes to carer was created by twins2
I originally sent this to the comments section. But Ibelieve this is a better place.
I am writing on behalf of my son. He get ESA and PIP and is in the support group for both. I presume that he will get a compulsory migration notice to UC this year. However his mum who is his official carer gets her state pension in May of this year. She will also lose her carers allowance at the same time. I think these are reportable changes. Is that so. Will the reporting of these changes mean that my son will be issued with a compulsory migration notice to UC at the same time. We want to be prepared so are starting now. Thanks in advance.

Hi twins2
Yes you should report if the mother ceases to receive Carer's Allowance and No that will not prompt a UC Managed Migration invitation letter.

As soon as I claimed my SP I prepared letters to go to carers allowance and ESA & my LA as we get CTS.
I claimed SP online on a Sat by Wed I had letter from SP confirming and on the Thursday had a letter from carers saying carers allowance would cease from xyz and I would still retain the underlying entitlement to carers allowance, (which means premium on ESA stays, or carers element on UC, I believe) I still sent letter to ESA to inform them and spoke with LA who still await like us action from ESA. It looks like it’s on ESA system as a change was shown on uprating letter from xyz but no working out from that date.
Hope that makes sense and gives you an idea of what you may possibly experience.
Best wishes
