UC Managed Migration and council tax. was created by karlgixer
Hello all.

I have just got my dreaded letter to move over my legacy benefit of income based ESA to UC. I have 2 questions for now to put me on.

1- I am doing a joint claim for myself and the wife (as she cares for me unpaid) it asks my wife for 2 forms of photo id, She has none what so ever (only 1 she did have but now expired is her passport. what else can she say to job centre when they phone here to prove who se is? Even though they have written to her the same time as me about the move over to UC.

2- Do I have to re apply to my local council for council tax credit ?
That's all for now.
Thanks. Karl.

Hi karlgixer

Your wife can use an expired passport as ID as long as she is still recognisable from the photo. There are other ID checks that they can do.
You will have to inform your local Council Tax department when you receive your first UC payment.
