Welfare cuts was created by Woody3
Hi all. The latest news relating to changes in benefits is deeply troubling and I’m sure many of us have fears about the cuts. The latest information states that those in work and actively seeking work will get paid more and those that are classed as unfit will get less. Are they likely to cut the amount to people currently getting disability benefits or do they mean new claimants? I know they intend for PIP to be discretionary/conditional and make it harder to claim.
For many like me with multiple health issues. Some of them life threatening, this is very upsetting. I lost my mum last year and the income to my home is halved. I’m just about covering my bills now and I have lots of hospital visits ahead of me and taxi fares are so high. I’m on a very restricted diet, which costs a fair bit. I don’t socialise, I don’t drink or smoke and rarely leave my home except if I can get to appointments. The bills keep going up and although I’ve renegotiated most of my outgoings by changing suppliers/tariffs etc they still keep increasing. I could do with help at home but can’t afford it,

Hi Woody,
I myself, like you, and likely thousands of others are feeling exactly the same way. All we can do, is wait until the budget on March 26th and then see how we go about dealing with the consequences later. Speculation unfortunately only causes additional pain, worry, stress, anxiety and more in the mean time.
