Can I still claim help with my rent if I stop claiming UC was created by Mojo7264
I am seriously considering not applying for UC. Got the invitation to claim last week. I get Adult disability payment and the SDP from dwp and in the ESA Support Group. My question is, could I still qualify for help with my rent ( social tenant ) if I didn't claim UC.

Hi Mojo7264

Universal Credit replaces Housing Benefit on Managed Migration. If you are getting help with your rent at present from Housing Benefit then unfortunately if you don't claim UC then those payments will stop except in limited circumstances related to Supported Housing/Pensioners.
