ESA Contribution Based Changes

So currently my only income is PIP at the higher rates. ESA in the support group and receive contribution based ESA Only. No income related benefits. Liz Kendalls speech says contribution based ESA will now be changed and time limited? And you will be expected to look for work? Does anyone have more information? I am unable to work at the moment due to long term problems? What will happen to Contribution Based ESA as i cant look for work? Will it be stopped? Sorry if im confused but very stressed along with a lot of other people i think Thank you for any help

I am in the same boat, managed to watch some of it, and it said ESA to be merged with JSA time limited,, then it was mostly pip and universal credit, if you have been found unfit for work for life, how can you be punished like this, unfit for work long term/life expected to look for work? confused? I am, I was waiting for an MP to stand up and ask a question about this, nothing said while I watched

I am also in this very same boat and would really like to know the answers aswell.

I am in the same position as previous posters. Other than PIP, CB ESA (Support Group) is my only income. I do no qualify for UC or anything means-tested. We need clarification on this issue urgently.

I have pretty much digested the whole Green Paper and I believe the CB ESA changes will be applicable only to NEW claimants. Here's a copy of the relevant paragraph stating this at the end of said paragraph. Hope this is helpful.

"54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming)."
