UC sanctions Cancer was created by Chaka Khan
Hello,
I am facing sanctions to my universal credit application despite going through cancer treatment.
I informed UC via my journal I was unwell due to my cancer treatment and multiple health conditions.
However despite this I was still contacted via phone from a work coach.
I am now facing sanctions and have to reply by tomorrow with a response.
I have sent my UC50 form off recently with the cancer back page completed by a health professional.
I was also scheduled for a work Capability assessment via the phone but I had to go to hospital for my cancer treatment so did not participate.
I am very worried about sanctions and further problems as a result of not having an assessment via the phone, however I believe I should not have had one due to my cancer diagnosis.
Any advice what to do or how to respond kindly appreciated.
-Macmillan have suggested a formal complaint
-Equality Advisory Service suggested a formal letter of 'failure to make reasonable adjustments'
-Or should I contact my MP?
Best wishes to everyone.
Thank you

Hi Chaka Khan
I think you should complain to the area manager of your local DWP. I can find the correct manager if you tell me your County or City of residence.
