Question about PIP 10 year award was created by Chazy
Hi

I am a new - ish pensioner and have been on a 10 year PIP award since March 2017. I assume I will get a review next year. I have no idea now what the prognosis bit says at the end of my form as its stashed away somewhere lol will find it out but not today. I know nothing about what a light touch review is, I remember asking on a forum when I first received my award what light touch meant but it was a pretty new thing back then and no one could really answer. I wonder if anyone could explain the process I will go through please ? The Nursing Sister who assessed me was really nice, very caring and kind, she was actually astounded that I had even been asked to attend a face to face given my poor condition. My Daughter pushed me in a wheelchair otherwise I would never have been able to attend. I wasn't aware back then that I could have asked for a telephone assessment. The Nurse did tell us my assessment should have been done on paper, she wasn't happy at all that I had been called in, especially when I presented her with graphic photos, not explicit, she had me sign a disclaimer or something because the pics were a bit 'yuck' as she said ( not sure of the term ) to allow her to attach the pics to my file to send to DWP. The Nurse also said she would note that in her opinion I should not be assessed again, however, we know that bit can mean nothing to DWP lol. Thank you to anyone who can explain what I should expect.

Hi Chazy

You're right - we didn't know anything about the light touch review. You can now read about it, in the Guide to PIP Claims and Reviews. It is a much shorter form review form and for those who have had one-when they completed and submitted the form - a paper assessment was completed. You can find the information from page 135. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/pip

Thank you BIS, glad i wasn't alone in thinking the term was used but we knew nothing about it.

BIS, does it make a difference if my assessor ticked the box '' i consider no requirement to arrange a review of this claim as significant change is unlikely'' The justification was, ''As there is functional restriction within this report due to long term conditions and there is little to be made in the future there is no requirement to review this claim''. I thought a paper based assessment might be done, however, now with this Government I doubt it lol.

Oh I see BISS, brain fog lol, so it is likely that it will be a paper review once I have submitted the form ? I mean, I guess that depends too on what's to come from our humm wonderful Government haha, Thanks again BISS for the help, gosh I was looking back at my questions, I cant believe how long I have been a member here ! years lol.
